Tariff Navigation Series: Recovering Hidden Tariff Costs Through Your Supply Chain

Friday, August 7, 2026 (9:00 AM - 10:00 AM) (MDT)

Description

As tariff policies continue to evolve, many companies are discovering opportunities to recover costs they assumed were permanent. Between ongoing litigation, tariff refund programs, supplier negotiations, and contractual recovery strategies, importers need to understand where opportunities exist and what actions they should be taking now.

Join us for this practical session exploring the latest developments in tariff recovery. Our speakers will explain the current tariff landscape, provide updates on refund litigation and the Customs Automated Processing Environment (CAPE) refund process, and share real-world strategies companies are using to recover tariff costs and strengthen their supply chain resilience.

During this webinar, you'll learn:

  • The current status of U.S. tariffs, including IEEPA, Section 122, and Section 232 actions, and the latest refund litigation.
  • Which tariffs have been refunded to date, what offsets may reduce refunds, and what additional recoveries may still be possible.
  • How companies have responded to tariff increases through supplier negotiations, pricing strategies, and cost-sharing arrangements.
  • How the CAPE tariff refund process works, why some refunds remain pending, and common issues that delay reimbursement.
  • Strategies companies are using to pursue contractual tariff recoveries from suppliers and trading partners.
  • Approaches for estimating potential tariff refunds and identifying opportunities across different product categories.
  • Emerging trends in class action litigation and important downstream considerations that may affect obligations to customers.

Whether your company is evaluating potential tariff refunds, reviewing supplier agreements, or planning for future trade policy changes, this webinar will provide practical guidance to help you identify opportunities, manage risk, and make informed business decisions.

This webinar is part of the Colorado Tariff Navigation Webinar Series, co-produced with the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade and the World Trade Center Denver.  The Colorado Lawyers Committee is also a supporting contributor.
