Intellectual Property Rights and International Commercial Contracting Issues

This course provides a comprehensive overview of the various forms of intellectual property for which protection is afforded in the United States and other countries and an overview of many common issues to consider before entering into international commercial contracts. The following topics will be discussed: intellectual property protection (including patents, copyrights, trade secrets and trademarks), Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, government export control regulations, international commercial contracting issues (including international manufacturing and distribution issues) 

CE Credits:
This training is worth 4 CE credits through the NFBAA for Certified Customs Specialists and Certified Export Specialists.

Instructor: 
Peter Kinsella, Perkins Coie LLP - Peter is a partner at Perkins Coie in the firm’s Technology Transactions & Privacy and Intellectual Property practices. His practice focuses on advising start-up, emerging and large companies on intellectual property, technology, licensing and transaction matters. Before joining the firm in 2010, Pete was a partner with Faegre & Benson. Prior to that, he worked in various legal capacities with Qwest Communications International, Inc. in Denver and Honeywell, Inc. in Minneapolis.
