Description
Join our insightful webinar on “Grant Funding for U.S.-Israel Innovation & Collaborations.” This session will delve into exciting opportunities for innovative Colorado enterprises to access grant funding opportunities from the Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial Research and Development Foundation (BIRD Foundation), a binational U.S.-Israel government initiative established in 1977 to generate mutually beneficial cooperation between U.S. and Israeli companies, including start-ups and established organizations. BIRD provides both matchmaking support between U.S. and Israeli companies as well as non-dilutive funding covering up to 50% of project development costs, up to $1.5M per project. BIRD takes no equity in the companies.
Hear directly from the BIRD Foundation and a current successful Colorado BIRD grantee, Forge Nano, a world-leading nanotechnology materials science company based in Thornton, Colorado.
This webinar is ideal for business owners, funding and procurement managers, product developers, and anyone involved in innovations looking to expand their global footprint.

About the BIRD Foundation:
The BIRD Foundation facilitates partnerships between one U.S.-based company and one Israeli company, allowing them to apply jointly by demonstrating the combined expertise and infrastructure necessary to define, develop, manufacture, market, and support an innovative product originating from industrial R&D. The key requirement is that each company has the capability to fulfill its role in the joint development and commercialization process.
Their willingness to share in the financial risk of product development as well as in the financial gain of commercialization are also key factors in BIRD’s evaluation.
The BIRD Foundation offers conditional grants for joint development projects on a risk-sharing basis. The BIRD Foundation funds up to 50% of each company’s R&D expenses associated with the joint project, up to $1.5M per project. Repayments are required if commercial revenues are generated as a direct result of the project.
BIRD’s scope extends to Agriculture, Communications, Construction Technologies, Electronics, Electro-optics, Life Sciences, Software, Homeland Security, Renewable and Alternative Energy, and other technology sectors. BIRD supports approximately 30 projects annually.
Since its inception, BIRD has approved over 1,000 projects with leading companies in the U.S., for example: ADM, American Red Cross, Applied Materials, Avaya, Bayer Pharmaceutical, Becton Dickinson, Bio-Rad Laboratories, Eastman Kodak, General Dynamics, General Electric, Guidant, IBM, J&J, KLA- Tencor, Molex, Motorola, Procter & Gamble, SanDisk, Spansion, Telcordia, Texas Instruments, Tyco and many others. See http://projectsdb.birdf.com for a complete database of BIRD projects.
