Wednesday, July 8, 2026 (10:00 AM - 11:30 AM) (MDT)

Description

As tariff exposure, trade remedies, and retroactive refund opportunities continue to evolve, businesses are taking a closer look at CAPE Declarations and the operational processes required to support potential claims and recovery efforts.

This practical session will provide an overview of CAPE filing considerations, the types of entry data and supporting documentation companies may need, and the broader operational and compliance factors organizations should evaluate before pursuing refunds or adjustments.

Topics may include:

  • Overview of CAPE Declarations and current trade landscape considerations
  • Understanding entry data requirements and documentation needs
  • ACE account access, ACH enrollment, and operational readiness
  • Identifying potentially impacted imports and entries
  • Coordination between importers, customs brokers, finance, and legal teams
  • Recordkeeping and audit considerations
  • Managing data cleanup, supplier information, and reconciliation efforts
  • Evaluating operational effort versus potential recovery opportunity
  • Strategic considerations when communicating with customers and suppliers
  • Practical workflows for organizing and prioritizing claims activity

This session is designed for importers, trade compliance professionals, finance teams, customs brokers, and operational leaders looking to better understand the practical realities, risks, and opportunities associated with CAPE-related activity in today’s changing trade environment.
