Tanya Arnt is the Director of Global Trade Activator, she oversees both the Incubator Program for Immigrants and the Accelerator Program for companies that are ready to launch into new International Markets.  Prior to this role, Tanya was the Director of Trade Institute at WTC Denver where she was responsible for modernizing trade education programs and converting in-person trainings into virtual and on demand offerings. Torrie Becwar– Institute Director

Torrie Becwar joined the WTC Denver team in 2022. As Director of the Trade Institute, she is responsible for managing the Certificate of International Trade program and the online learning platform. Before coming back to her home state of Colorado, she spent 17 years in Italy helping professionals expand their work internationally by developing their Business English skills. She has a master’s degree in Learning Design and Technology from CU Denver and is excited to be involved in the WTC training program.

With over 15 years of experience in international business development, Vanesa specializes in fostering strategic alliances across industries, including finance, hospitality, and digital marketing.

An attorney with a specialization in international business, Vanesa has honed her expertise in business growth and sustainability through advanced studies at Harvard’s Digital Marketing program and Cambridge University’s Circular Economy Sustainability program. These qualifications provide a comprehensive 360-degree perspective on business operations.

As Director of Global Entrepreneur Incubator, Vanesa will drive cross-border collaborations, help entrepreneurs navigate international markets, while complying with international regulations, and support their training and fundraising campaigns, focusing on enhancing global connectivity and creating sustainable business practices, ensuring that entrepreneurs can thrive in today’s interconnected world. WTCD intern 2024

Melanie (she/her) joined the World Trade Centre Winnipeg team in November 2023 as Program Manager. She is responsible for planning and leading the organization’s projects, programs and events.

Melanie is an experienced project coordination and management professional bringing numerous years’ experience in consulting, fundraising, and administration. Her demonstrated analytical and organization skills have helped provided complex support for multi-year million-dollar projects for not-for-profits and corporate clients. Melanie has a proven ability to develop productive relationships with clients and stakeholders across all levels of an organization.

Karen Freidhof is currently the Associate Director at the Institute for International Business (IIB) and Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) at University of Colorado Denver.

Stephanie Garnica is the director of global engagement at Denver's Economic Development & Opportunity Office.  In this role, Stephanie leads the international strategy for the city to leverage and promote its’ global assets to attract foreign direct investment, oversees diplomacy, advises on international affairs, and elevates Denver’s reputation as a global hub of activity.  She brings a wealth of economic development and community leadership experience to the job and is known as a well connected resource for the international community.  

Her previous roles include senior manager of air service development for Denver International Airport (DEN); director of business development for the World Trade Center Denver; and director of trade & investment for the Americas at the Colorado Office Economic Development and International Trade.  She lived and worked in Central America after graduating college and is fluent in Spanish.  She has traveled and worked extensively throughout the world and hosted global visitors to Denver from over 100 countries.  

Given her deep international experience, Garnica is involved in several globally focused initiatives in the Denver Metro area.  She is a Board Member of the Biennial of the Americas, World Trade Center Denver, Japan America Society of Colorado, and Study Colorado.  She also serves on the CIBER (Center for International Business Education & Research) Advisory Council at the University of Colorado at Denver and as an Advisory Member of the Global Community Engagement Program at the University of Denver’s University College.  Garnica received a master’s degree in International Business from the University of Colorado at Denver and an undergraduate degree in International Marketing from the University of Colorado at Boulder.  Married to a Bolivian and the mother of three kids, she enjoys raising globally minded citizens of the world, hiking, reading, traveling and cooking.
