This practical session demystifies the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) and shows how it directly impacts your day-to-day work in logistics, compliance, and import/export operations. Participants will learn core security criteria, common vulnerabilities in the supply chain, and what companies must do to maintain certification. Through real examples, you’ll see how CTPAT requirements affect carrier selection, documentation, vendor management, and cargo security. Whether your organization is already certified or considering it, this class gives you actionable steps to strengthen supply chain security, reduce risk, and support faster, more predictable cross-border operations.

James Ferry, Canadian Solar
James has a wide variety of business experience, both in international trade and otherwise. He worked for a Licensed Customs Broker for many years before moving to MolsonCoors. At MolsonCoors and Arrow Electronics, James was the Trade Compliance Manager, overseeing the import and export compliance functions of the large global business and global projects teams. James is now a Trade Compliance Manager with Canadian Solar.
