This training focuses on developing a strategic and tactical plan for entering new international markets, including selecting the right market for your product or service, determining how best to enter the market, and where to make the contacts necessary to get you there successfully.   You will gain critical insight into what makes your business successful in your home market so you can be positioned to replicate that success in a new market. 

We’ll also explore the practical business side of foreign regulations, language and logistical barrier.  Through a combination of lecture, discussion, and real-world context, you can actually begin to develop the footprint of a successful market entry plan for your business.

Businesses looking to take their business international or to a new market.  

Prior Knowledge: 
Attendance at "An Introduction to International Trade" is recommended prior to this training. If you cannot attend this free training in-person, you can view a recorded version for free here. 

Instructor: 
Craig Maginness, ExIn Global Strategies -  Mr. Maginness has extensive real-world experience in the development and implementation of international business strategies, export market entry, and the management of international operations. Mr. Maginness has taught international business and other management courses in both the graduate school and undergraduate programs at Johnson & Wales University, and has also taught international business in the EMBA program at Colorado State University. He has been a frequent speaker on international business development and management for the US Chamber of Commerce, local chambers and business development centers and foreign business institutes. He was named the 2013 “Trade Educator of the Year” by NASBITE International – formerly the National Association of Small Business International Trade Educators.  Mr. Maginness’s book “Go Glocal: The Definitive Guide to Success in Entering International Markets” debuted as a #1 New Release in International Money & Business on Amazon following its publication in April 2018. 

CE Credits:
This training is worth 4 CE credits through the NFBAA for Certified Export Specialists.

Training Hours:
This training counts for 4 hours towards the Certificate in International Trade.
